How come Photomanipulation has become illegal?

Wed Jul 9, 2008, 5:30 PM
Haha! No Seriously!

Wonderful people on this site everyday, all day color manga scans, line arts, so on and so forth. So how come now-a-days you're criticized for coloring a scan?

Is it because they're jealous they cant color it like you?

Or is it because they believe this world is only full of stagnant artists. Ones who doodle their stick figures and criticize others because instead of posting their doodles, they show their skills of photo-manipulation and coloring skills.

So they get yelled at, reported, bitched out, etc etc because they choose to be different?

So how come photomanipulation has become illegal?

You tell me, comments open to friends only.

Line arts are only coloured when an artist gives his/her permission. The people who colour line arts without artist permission always get reported. it may not happen right away, but they always get caught.

People post doodles and simple sketches because there are actually some KIND artists who give constructive critisism and help them to become better. If you want to show off skills at colouring, try colouring line arts instead. And please actually look up what photomanipulation is.

Why is comments open to friends only? Are you only allowing people who agree with you to state their argument? Or maybe you like support without having to fight back. If you don't want everybody stating their opinion, why are you posting here? This site is meant to be open for all people to vioce their opinions and show their art.

What I find funny is that I do write asking for permission over and over again and I don't get any response. It's claimed that artist and companies want permission, and when its asked for we don't get an answer. So the lack of response therefore, makes you think otherwise. Whether or not they really do care, if we "borrow" the work. It's not considered stealing when you manipulating the scan/photo/artbook page in a enough certain degree that its different from the original. My husband learned that in his computer art class.

If someone can inform me how I can get in contact with artist such as Kaori Yuki herself... in a way that i can get a response... please tell me.
